The Buildings....
In 1877, the Chapel of Saint Mary opened on the corner of Coventry Road and Fairfield Road. Almost 130 years later, the now named Our Lady of Victories has undergone a considerable facelift, more than doubling its seating capacity.

The Roads....
Coventry Road for example has changed almost beyond recognition. Today, it would be impossible to look up this section of the road and not see a vehicle of any description in sight.

The Changing Face of Harborough

.....................................100 years of change .....................................

During our lifetime, our surroundings are constantly changing. New replaces the old, whether it's green fields being replaced by housing or new buildings replacing old, wildernesses turned into recreation areas or just the old having facelifts. For better, or worse, Harborough has had its fair share of changes over the years. Once something has been demolished, it is gone forever. This section of the website seeks to compare what once was, and what is now, leaving the viewer to decide the merits or otherwise of the changing face of Harborough.
