29/08/99 Petition to save this building.
Old village hall
A petition to save this building from demolition amassed over 700 signatures in less than 2 weeks. Situated on the High Street, Kibworth Beauchamp, it is currently owned by the Co-Operative Supermarket Chain, who want to remove it to expand their store which is next door.
The building, which was originally built for the Baptist Church, and later became the Church Hall for St. Wilfrids Church, is now used as a studio by a local photographer who organised the petition.
It would appear that the petition was succesful, as the building is still standing today.
