Lubenham's
"Weekend of Straw" is proving to be an immensely popular annual event, with
this years total cash raised for local organisations and charities exceeding
£5000. Superb sunshine helped in attracting a record attendance this year,
where there were more than 100 novel scarecrows on display. One of the displays,
which won an award at the naming ceremony on Sunday, was Luciana Dradge's
entry "yellow Brick Road".
Among other attractions at the event, was a classical vehicle display featuring
superbly restored lorries, tractors and motorcycles, some of which were
in excess of fifty years old. |
